Have a look at this website - it's new and we're trying to get some serious dialogue on XBRL going. http://ccd.investormatrix.com/XBRL
Thanks and happy new year!

Enjoyed the "chatter" I do feel chained to the chair with an unmovable head- thus I can only see the shadows on the wall. However, that shall pass as my prep for the upcoming semester is complete. I will point my students to the Crossview link and even give them some assignments to explore the filings. Now to devise some good task for them to expand their knowledge of XBRL- does that sound tooo much like the evil doctor?
Happy new year to all and to my Rivet friends how does it feel not to have me on the phone nagging about a DT feature?

Daniel - Thanks for your kind words. We are quite happy with Crossfire or Crossview - whatever helps make the reality more transparent.

I agree the Edward II reference is a stretch but perhaps you may understand my insertion of this point (if you'll pardon the pun) when I disclose that I am retained to blog on behalf of the the UK Poker industry (the implement not the card game).

Stewart,

I am awestruck. Truly a marvelous romp through history, although the 45 degree broken stick to Edward II's fate does seem a big of a leap (poor but deserving Edward). I would also argue that the second picture is not in face a Babylonian muffin, but the mold to create that so distinctive Babylonian muffin design - hence the rationale for burning down the library - destroy the cookbooks so to speak.

Your Plato (finally) is well placed, and other than the fact that the investors and consumers of financial and business information are not "actually" chained to the floor, though it does seem at times that they are only allowed to see shadows.

Finally, at least we agree on the logical cave wall. In my version, we have progressed to the point of being able to provide both the logical cave wall AND the content/context to allow the viewer of the cave wall to see more than the simple representation of information. Mind you I had hoped that there would have been enough tools like crossfire to make the very concept of iXBRL redundant.

And under full disclosure, I admit that I have frantically tried to find any way to create a linkage to the Two Princes and the Tower, but have failed completely, so I'll just include the fact that I tried but failed.

Cheers,
Dan
